Isoko” is Kinyarwanda for “marketplace”

“Entrepreneurship is the surest way for a nation to meet its goals and to develop prosperity for the greatest number of people”.
– President Paul Kagame

Do you think entrepreneurs are greedy and selfish? Or do you think that they can be divinely called and the driving force in God’s continuous creative work on earth? Our perception of private enterprise and people who create, own and manage for-profit businesses matters because it shapes the destinies of individuals and nations.

Contrary to popular belief and the way most media depicts business leaders, true entrepreneurs are directed towards satisfying others’ needs, wants and desires. They are rewarded for how well they serve their fellow human being. They are creative pioneers and powerful agents of change. True entrepreneurship is not a zero-sum game but a way of bringing resources together to create new wealth.

The Isoko Institute for Entrepreneurship and Strong Societies in Africa promotes private enterprise solutions to prosperity, new business creation and business training in Rwanda and Africa. The Center serves as a catalyst for entrepreneurs and investors to launch new businesses and test them in the African marketplace. At the same time, the Center accelerates the impact of Africa’s most effective business innovations by providing a platform for scholars, advocates and teachers to vigorously research results, recognize inspiring role models and promote best practices.

Kat, I met you at your Dad’s office the other day, can you send/link me to more details about the exhibit at Stone Ward on Dec. 10th? I may pass this on to Katy and Kim Allen if you haven’t already. Katy is very involved in local women’s charities and may be able to help publicize this! God Bless you, with the world in the state it’s in it calms my heart to know that there are people like you to shape the future for my 14-year-old son!
